STRATEGIC TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT
LEARN TO LEAD THE EVOLUTION OF TECHNOLOGY
This cutting-edge program is designed to prepare students for top jobs in today's
technologically oriented business world. By combining dynamic and synergistically chosen
curriculum from UAT's existing course requirements, students learn a unique combination
of technical, strategic, critical, financial, analytical and managerial skills that allow
them to excel in such high-demand areas as strategic management, global business,
innovation, technology product development, and project management in start up, private
and public sector firms. In recent years, the field of strategic technology development
has grown rapidly in conjunction with advances in technology, new business models,
regulatory issues, development methodology, managing cross functional and international
teams, strategic management, innovation and "go-to-market strategies" thus creating a
demand for these dynamic cross functional skills.
The University of Advancing Technology's undergraduate degree program develops necessary
foundational and mission critical expertise in the underlying disciplines of strategic
technology development with a strong background in the associated disciplines and frameworks.
Students learn to apply and integrate this knowledge within a variety of actionable and
real world functions. The Strategic Technology Development program and degree fully prepares
students for managerial and executional excellence.
DEGREE OBJECTIVES

Develop a comprehensive product development plan and strategy utilizing the frameworks
and methodologies identified throughout the program. This will include functional tasks
such as budgeting, ROI, project management, innovation, strategic planning and management/execution.

Develop a product's "go-to-market strategy" incorporating the elements of marketing,
customer research and analysis, budgeting, ROI, pricing, project management and any applicable
legal issues.

Demonstrate the application and analysis of strategic business frameworks (Porters 5 Forces,
Modified Delta Model, Balanced Score Card, etc.) through the creation of industry use case examples.

Design a comprehensive plan to implement, communicate and champion a unified change initiative
by analyzing the go-to-market strategy, product development plan, marketing position, budgeting
and management process.

Map the structure and processes of an organization and its functional flows and analyze how
the organization works as a complete system.
