CONCEIVE, DEVELOP AND DEPLOY APPLICATIONS WITHIN ADVANCING FRAMEWORKS AND ENVIRONMENTS ACROSS A VARIETY OF PLATFORMS.

Software development and computer science are constantly accelerating into the future; yesterday is obsolete, tomorrow is arriving. The Advancing Computer Science student develops mastery of this highly fluid environment; embracing new programming languages, architectures and paradigms in order to create applications for advancing code architectures. You will achieve a deep understanding of, and facility with, advancing software paradigms as you develop new ways of creating and interpreting data to generate robust, effective applications.
ADVANCING COMPUTER SCIENCE OBJECTIVES (BS)

SUCCESSFUL SOLUTIONS:
Identify challenges and design, build and test software systems in a team environment, use industry-standard software engineering processes encompassing all phases of the software lifecycle.

PLATFORM SELECTION:
Choose the most appropriate programming languages, standards and technologies and communicate these decisions clearly in written and oral forms.

ADVANCED APPLICATIONS:
Investigate and develop applications for new code architectures such as distributed computing and neural networks.

NEW LANGUAGE IMPLEMENTATION:
Integrate new programming languages into application development, focusing on the strengths of new languages over current languages and practices in software development.

CONTEXT CONNECTION:
Develop within a Context Driven Architecture (CoDA) to build applications that provide what is needed to the user when it is needed.

PARADIGM EXPLORATION:
Investigate new software development paradigms--including scrum, agile or extreme programming--comparing the advantages and disadvantages to traditional software development.
